ENR Awards Webber & Ferrovial Best of the Best for 2015!

Engineering News-Record (ENR) has awarded Bluebonnet Contractors, a joint venture between Ferrovial and Webber, with the Best of the Best Highway/Bridge Project for 2015.

The North Tarrant Express was a sprawling reconstruction project costing $2.1 billion. The 13-mile, east-west highway in Tarrant County, Texas consisted of 84 bridges and 52 off- and on-ramps as well as continuous frontage roads. Main lanes were rebuilt along with the addition of four tolled, managed lanes. Bluebonnet Contractors led the design and construction of the job.

Crossing six municipalities and impacting more than one million people, the North Tarrant Express project dramatically enhanced mobility in the region. The Bluebonnet team, along with more than 400 local subs and suppliers, collaborated with TxDOT to build this award-winning project nine months ahead of schedule with only a 0.2 OSHA incident rate.

We are incredibly proud of our crewmembers and their hard work on this project.

Greater Houston Partnership

Along with several other industry leaders, Webber CEO, Tim Creson, recently participated in Public-Private Partnerships (P3) in Infrastructure, a three-member panel discussion that was hosted by the Greater Houston Partnership along with the Spain-Texas Chamber of Commerce. The goal of the event was to facilitate the open exchange of ideas on the current state of P3s in Texas, and provide a venue to educate local public clients on the advantages of the P3 delivery model for infrastructure. The event was well attended and will surely generate potential future partnering opportunities for Webber.
