HOUSTON, November 5, 2018 – PLW Waterworks, LLC, part of the Webber group of companies, was selected by the Acton Municipal Utility District to rehabilitate and upgrade the Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 1, located in the City of De Cordova Bend Estates, Texas. The completed project will cost about $8 million and will be led by Area Manager Don Bailey and Project Manager Daniel Cobos.
The Acton MUD project work will upgrade and expand the existing facility from 0.6 to 0.93 millions of gallons per day (MGD). Construction will include a new sequencing batch reactor (SBR) structure, a new chlorine contact basin structure and a new administration building. Scheduled start date is October 2018 with Phase 1 expected to take about a year. Phase 2 will be completed by March 2020.
In order to obtain a balance between expedited construction and maximizing cost efficiency, Acton Mud has chosen PLW Waterworks as Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), that will allow the team to best meet the time and budget goals that have been set for this relevant project.
Enprotec/Hibbs & Todd (EH&T) served as the design engineer for the project.
